The Role of Parents in Developing Basic Literacy and Numeracy Skills in Children up to Class 3 under the NIPUN Bharat Mission Introduction: The NIPUN Bharat Mission aims to ensure that every child in the country attains foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Class 3. While teachers play a central role in this mission, parents’ involvement is equally crucial. We must never forget that parents are children's first teachers, especially for those in the age group of 6 to 9 years, as they are more closely attached to their parents and other family members than anyone else. At this age, children are often heavily reliant on their mothers for meeting most of their needs.
